Who We Are

Fay Hope Association was born from a deep desire to create meaningful opportunities for children to grow beyond the classroom. As an educator and mentor, I witnessed firsthand how many young students, especially in underserved communities, lacked access to essential life skills — the kind that build confidence, resilience, empathy, and real-world readiness.

What began as informal mentoring and small group activities, gradually grew into a structured vision: a safe, engaging space where children could learn critical life skills through creativity, play, and connection. I started with just a handful of students, a few board games, and a belief that every child deserves to thrive — academically, personally and socially.

From that spark, the Fay Hope Association was established — rooted in the belief that education is not just about grades, but about growing whole Child. Today, we offer programs that teach communication, emotional intelligence, teamwork, responsibility, and leadership — all in ways that are fun, interactive, and empowering.

Our journey is still unfolding, but it remains fueled by the same purpose: helping children build lives filled with confidence, compassion, and capability.

What We Do

Fay Hope Association partners with elementary schools in Pittsburg, California, and surrounding areas to deliver engaging, age-appropriate life skill workshops for students in grades 1 through 5.

Each workshop consists of 8 interactive sessions and is designed to equip students with essential skills such as:

  • Effective communication

  • Problem solving

  • Teamwork

  • Emotional regulation

  • Patience and sportsmanship

Workshops are offered during or after school hours, with each group serving 8 students at a time. Over the course of the school year, four workshops are held per grade level, reaching a total of 32 students per grade. Our structured yet supportive environment helps young learners gain confidence, build positive relationships, and develop the social-emotional tools they need to succeed in and out of the classroom.

Dear Friends and Supporters,

My name is Fay Massey, and I am the proud founder of the Fay Hope Association, an initiative close to my heart, created to support children in building essential life skills through compassion, mentorship, and education.

I have had the privilege of serving the Pittsburg Unified School District (PUSD) for the past nine years, beginning my journey as a Family Liaison, later supporting students as a Behavior Support Assistant, and currently working as the Full-Service Community School Site Coordinator at Willow Cove Elementary. Through these roles, I’ve had the honor of walking alongside students and families, helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

My passion for education and love for community are deeply rooted in my upbringing. I was inspired by my parents, who founded St. Matthew’s Elementary School, a Christian school in Pakistan. Working closely with them taught me the lifelong impact of quality education and the transformative power of nurturing every child’s potential.

Throughout my time in Pittsburg, I have seen firsthand how students flourish when provided with consistent guidance in life skills, social-emotional learning, and restorative justice practices. The growth I witnessed (from improved behavior, to confidence and character) planted the seeds for the Fay Hope Association, officially launched on June 27th, 2025.

The vision for this association is bold and heartfelt. I aim to reach hundreds, and eventually thousands, of children, helping them build strong foundations in life skills, with the goal of supporting academic achievement in the future. I hope to expand our reach across multiple school districts.

The Fay Hope Association is dedicated to supporting students both during and after school.

We aim to empower students with the tools they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

I am grateful beyond words for the grace and strength God has given me to begin this journey. I extend heartfelt thanks to my family for their unwavering support and belief in me. A special note of thank you and appreciation to Principal Ms. Borquez and Vice Principal Mr. Winkler of Willow Cove for encouraging me to think beyond the traditional and pursue innovative solutions for our students. Thank you to the Willow Cove staff, families and Community Partners for your constant encouragement, and most importantly, to all my students; Your smiles, resilience, and trust have been the greatest motivation of all.

With deep gratitude,

Fay Massey
